The annual Labor Day Festival at the Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Rd., Florence Twp, will be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. The Festival starts at 8:00 am. This Labor Day Festival has grown into a very popular event that draws thousands of people. Plenty of parking has been added to accommodate the crowds. (Parking donations will be accepted.)
Whether finding bargains in the flea market goods, or hungering for some good cooking, then this is the place to be on Labor Day. The aromas from the International Foods will tempt your taste buds as dedicated volunteers put together some of the best ethnic foods in the area. Take out orders are again available for the International foods! The varieties include Italian hoagies, sausage and pepper sandwiches, Greek specialties, Polish Kielbasi, perogies, chicken, ribs and fish, soul food with greens and black-eyed peas; Hispanic foods including tacos, nachos, and Spanish rice. And not to be forgotten are great American hot dogs, delicious desserts such as German and Polish pastries and homemade cakes and cookies, funnel cake and refreshing Italian water ice. A pig roast is another tempting treat. Don’t miss it. In the event of rain, the International Foods will still be available.
Exciting entertainment for the kids this year will be featured in the Kids World exhibits. Games, inflatable rides, and much more will keep them laughing and having fun all day.
For the fishing fanatics (young and old alike), a bass fishing tournament is also included in this Labor Day Festival. Fishing takes place from 8:00 am to 11:00 a.m. at the lake located on the grounds. Prizes are offered for the biggest bass and most fish. Register for the fishing contest by calling (609)386-1032.
