The Christian Bell Choir was formed at a church in Burlington, NJ with the initial membership being young people from that church, and others in the area. Because of their other activities, the young people found it difficult to commit to the necessary weekly rehearsals, so the membership was expanded to adults. Many of the adults who joined are not true musicians, but God has shown the membership how to make a “joyful noise” anyhow.
With its 3 - 1/2 octaves of bells and chimes, the choir is glad to make beautiful music, but even more pleased to be “One Family in Christ”. Choir members are family and friends that measure many of their relationships in decades. There are three generations within the choir family and include people from more than ten different churches. Thursday night rehearsals often develop into true worship services. The choir’s goal is to spread the Christian message in music and word. The choir has performed in churches; convalescent, senior and community centers; as well as prisons. There have been concerts, services, and weddings in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, and California.
The Christian Bell Choir is under the direction of its founder and mentor, Stanley J. Morgan. He and his wife (Ida) have opened their home to the choir for rehearsals, workshops, and general Christian fellowship.
