David Boudwin grew up in Beverly, NJ, the son of Dr. Norman and Jean Boudwin and with an older sibling Kenneth. While attending Rutgers University, he became involved in the drug culture and was considered hopelessly addicted to LSD, among other drugs. After graduation David lead hippie communes in New Jersey and Canada and, with a mind filled with hallucinations, he became a self-proclaimed messiah. Suicidal thoughts and a mental meltdown led him to be institutionalized for a brief time. The therapy did not help him to recover and he continued in his drug lifestyle.
However, God had other plans for his life and in 1971, through the testimony of a resident in Beverly, David committed his life to Christ and started attending the Burlington Assembly of God where Pastor Paul Graban was shepherding a small Pentecostal flock of worshippers. Facing prison for selling drugs, Pastor Graban and his church prayed and sought God to find favor for David. They were humbled and joyful when the judge permitted David to remain free under Pastor Graban’s leadership and mentoring.
Having been saved out of the hippie generation, his newfound love and joy in the Lord was exuberant and he brought many of his hippie friends to church and to faith in Christ also. During those early years, while serving faithfully with Pastor Paul Graban, David also worked for the Willingboro NJ maintenance department until he was asked to come on staff in 1979. He is a licensed and ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. With a zeal for souls, he was Director of the bus ministry involving bringing hundreds of youth to church weekly. He also served as the Pastor of the Willingboro outreach for five years.
As word spread about the dramatic change in his life, Pastor Dave became a trusted and influential citizen involved in many civic activities, including the following: the Prison Ministry of Burlington County and the State of New Jersey, the Florence Twp. Fair Housing Board, The Florence Township Drug Awareness Committee, the Director of Lighthouse Community Development Association for Camden, and the Burlington County Coordinator for Surplus Food Distribution.
Pastor Dave is a Certified Representative and Financial Planner for the Assemblies of God and has served a term as an Assistant Presbyter for the NJ District Assemblies of God. He is presently a Board member of Valley Forge Christian College.
He is the Business Manager for Life Center Academy and the director for overseas missions trips to third world countries for LCA seniors and the church each year. While continuing to preach, counsel for marriages and drug addictions, Pastor Dave, with his wife Diane, leads the youth and young adults group, The Source. One of their greatest desires is to raise up young people who will recognize that their lives have a calling to be all God designed them to be.
