In October of 1945, Reverend Frederick Huber, and his wife Kathleen, met with four people to start a new work in Burlington, NJ. Two months later, Reverend Walter Fisher, with his wife Mary, came to serve as Pastor of this new work, the Burlington Assembly of God. The Fishers served faithfully until 1957.
Reverend Joseph Sutera became the second pastor in 1957 and ministered with his wife, Dorothy, until October 1966. At that time, a traveling evangelist and his wife came to speak for one engagement, but God had other plans. Pastor Paul J. Graban and his wife Evelyn, became the new pastors to this small congregation.
Under their ministry, the church grew. It became necessary to relocate and 106 acres were purchased in Florence Township The church was renamed the Fountain of Life Center.
Pastor Graban continues to guide a constituency of several thousand, as well as serving as Headmaster of Life Center Academy (LCA), a non-denominational, private school. LCA opened in 1975 and Reverend Evelyn Graban served as Principal until her death in 1991.
FLC is home to the Jubilee House, a maternity home for women in crisis pregnancies and the Northeast Memorial for the Unborn. FLC is also home to radio station WIFI 1460 AM, as well as Little Angel Preschool. The Life Center, a sports, recreational, and fitness center is also on the FLC campus.
Under the inspired leadership of the Grabans, FLC became well known for its theatrical productions with four major productions performed annually, with the Easter production drawing over 23,000 people this year.
FLC is a melting pot of people of all cultures, races, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Speakers have come from all over the world to minister at the Fountain. It is truly “A Spiritual Oasis” and a tribute to God’s glory where people are committed and obedient to zealously follow wherever He leads.
